The deathly silence surrounding The Last of Us 2 has finally vanished with rumors coming around that The Last of Us 2 is getting a multiplayer expansion of its own! Last year, The Last of Us 2 received good reviews and even won a majority of the game awards. But the game still is looked at as controversial.

A 4Chan leaker revealed that The Last of Us 2 is slated to release in 2021. This revelation aligns with rumors that Naughty Dog is preparing to launch a multiplayer game. Additionally, this 4Chan leaker mentions that Uncharted will release on PC this year, giving the leak more validity.

Naughty Dog For an Unnamed Project

With the launch of PS5, Naughty Dog has been rigorously working on the new upgrade of The Last of Us 2. This new upgrade will enable the players to make a choice between 30 / 60 FPS plus graphical movements. This upgrade was released in May earlier this year. But very little is known about The Last of Us 2 Factions.

Naughty Dog this year did announce “hiring for an unnamed multiplayer project”; fans were quick to conclude that this was for Factions for The Last of Us 2. Naughty Dog, however, released a statement. So while fans are exciting about the prospect of Factions, it might be a possibility that it turns out to be a standalone game.

“You will eventually experience the fruits of our team’s online ambition, but not as part of The Last of Us Part II…”

On 9^th September, the PlayStation showcase presentation was scheduled. Playstation stated that “The Showcase will weigh in at around 40 minutes and include updates from PlayStation Studios and some of the industry’s most imaginative developers, for games releasing this holiday and beyond.

And stick around after the presentation to get more updates from some of the studio teams featured in the Showcase.” And hence, it seems that waiting patiently is on the agenda for all fans and players because if Factions is to be announced this year, it might most likely be on 26^th September 2021!
