A new P.A. Works anime titled Aquatope of White Sand (Shiroi Suna no Aquatope in Japanese) has been announced. The original anime is scheduled for a July premiere, and is directed by Nagi-Asu: A Lull in the Sea and Iroduku: The World in Colors‘ Toshiya Shinohara.
A promotional video and key visual were also released. The latter features the tagline, “The two girls met in the ruins of damaged dream.”
Additionally, the official English Twitter page for P.A. Works released several teaser shots and character shots for the show.

The staff includes Yuuko Kakihara (Chihayafuru 3) as series composer, U35 (Lapis Re:LiGHTS) as the character draft designer, Yuki Akiyama (Iroduku: The World in Colors) as character designer and chief animation director, Kurumi Suzuki (The Day I Became a God) as art director, Naomi Nakano (Kemono Jihen) as color designer, and Satoshi Namiki (Appare-Ranman!) as photography director.
The cast includes Miku Itou (The Quintessential Quintuplets series) as Kukuru Umisakino and Rikako Aida (LBX Girls) as Fuuka Miyazawa (note that these romanizations are not official). Kukuru works at the Gamagama Aquarium, where she sees “mysterious things,” while Fuuka is a former idol who has fled from Tokyo to Okinawa. The story will revolve around their encounter.
