“#Pokemon GO: 3-Day Server Maintenance Starts Today”
Niantic has planned server maintenance for Pokemon Go from the 3^rd of November to the 6^th of November. They have also said that while there might be some disruptions during these three days, players will still be able to play Pokemon Go.

It does feel like three-day server maintenance is a bit long. However, there are other reasons why players are not very happy with this. The server maintenance coincides with the Festival of Lights event and the Darkrai Raid Hour.

Niantic has not specified what exactly the server maintenance will entail. It is most probably bug fixes and tweaks here and there.

Trainers, we’ll be performing server maintenance from November 3 to November 6, 2021 PDT. You’ll still be able to play @pokemongoapp, but you may experience some disruptions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We’ll post updates as maintenance begins and ends.

As every Wednesday consists of a Raid Hour event from 6-7 PM local time, so does November 3, which features the Mythical Pokemon Darkrai, who will appear more often in the wild, and players will stand a chance to encounter and capture the Pokemon, possibly even a shiny one. However, since the server maintenance coincides with this period, layers might possibly face some disruptions.

In addition to this, the Festival of Lights is set to begin on the 5^th of November, and it just might happen that players might not be able to enjoy the event as they might have without the disruptions. Further, the normal functioning of the game and the month-long events and content can also be disrupted.

It would greatly disappointing to players if they were to have any disruption during this period, but it might be unavoidable. That being said, we hope Niantic comes up with new content or events to compensate for whatever players might miss out on during the maintenance.
