The Gods’ Games We Play light novels are written by Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World‘s Kei Sazane and illustrated by Toiro Kinoruru. The series, published under KADOKAWA’s MF Bunko J label, began in 2021 and has six volumes as of January 2023. It has inspired a manga adaptation by Piko Toriumi.

The story involves “The Game of Gods,” which was created by gods that had too much free time on their hands. It is a difficult game that no human has managed to conquer, due to the gods’ fickleness, irrationality, and occasionally hard-to-understand nature. However, when former goddess Leoreche wakes up from her long slumber, Fay, a boy who is considered to be the game’s best rookie in recent years, finds himself joining Leoleshea to battle against the gods in the ultimate intellectual game.
