#Watch Megan Thee Stallion throw the first pitch during the Houston Astros’ season-opener

The MLB season got a little help from the Houston rapper on Thursday.

Megan Thee Stallion marked the start of the Houston Astros’ 2023 season on Thursday night by throwing out the first pitch. Houston native Megan took part in the pre-game ceremony for the World Series champions’ match against the Chicago White Sox at Minute Maid Park.

Sporting a white Astros jersey with her surname “Pete” emblazoned across the back, alongside the number 222, Megan stepped up to the mound and threw a solid pitch to David Hensley who then congratulated her as she was applauded by the crowd. As pitches go it maybe wasn’t quite MLB standard but still streets ahead of 50 Cent’s infamously bad effort.

Megan’s appearance in Houston came a day after it was reported that Tory Lanez is seeking a new trial following his conviction for shooting her in a 2020 incident. Lanez’ legal team claims that evidence used in the trial was “erroneously allowed.” In January Lanez’ lawyers successfully lobbied the judge to delay his sentencing until April while they reviewed trial transcripts.
