#San Francisco is the pick

The Wildcat returns for his 24th season in The Post, including the 1997-2019 seasons in the Bettor’s Guide. Cat’s record in print stands at 636-537 (54.2 percent) against the spread (Home team in CAPS).

San Francisco 49ers (+3) over SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

The Seahawks are as fun as all get-out to watch. But they’re tough on the nerves and stomach when you’re giving up anything more than a trey with Seattle against anything resembling a real team — and San Francisco is all that. As befits the sophisticated city they represent, the Niners travel very well, having covered in their most recent five outings on the road when catching points. Seattle secondary’s strictly from hunger. Go with the Garoppolos, for one unit.

CINCINNATI BENGALS (+5.5) over Tennessee Titans

Tennessee remains a big-rep outfit, but the Titans harbor the habit of playing loosey-goosey track meets, which is dangerous business when you’re asked to lay around a touchdown. Even with the likely absence of Cincinnati RB Joe Mixon, slick rookie QB Joe Burrow is the real thing, and the opposition’s stop unit is anything but ironclad. The AFC South as a whole hosts multiple dubious defenses. Bengals hang in, for one unit.

Last week: 2-0. Panthers (W). 49ers (W).
2020 season: 5-9.
