“Roku Sakura's Busu ni Hanataba wo Romantic Comedy Manga Gets Anime Adaptation”

The official Twitter for KADOKAWA's Young Ace monthly magazine confirmed today that an anime adaptation of Roku Sakura's romantic comedy manga Busu ni Hanataba wo (literally means Flowers for the ugly girl) is now in the works. More details will be given in the magazine in the future.

The manga was serialized in the magazine from its May 2016 to October 2022 issues, and its final 12th tankobon volume is released today in Japan. The story centers on Hana Tabata, a first-year high school student who self-deprecates herself as an ugly girl (busu). She comes to school early morning to do her daily classroom flower exchange. Hana likes this time so much that she takes pleasure in putting a flower on her head, but Yosuke Ueno, the most handsome boy in her class who happens to arrive at school early, sees her doing it. Yosuke has always been curious about the person changing the flowers in the classroom, and when he finds out that it is Hana, the two gradually grow closer. However, the distance between Hana, who refuses numerous opportunities for progress, and Yosuke, who is innocent and ignorant when it comes to love, continues to be difficult to close.
