#Pastor busted for allegedly trading nude photos with teen he met on Grindr

A Queens Catholic pastor was arrested by the FBI on Wednesday for allegedly sending naked photos to a 15-year-old boy that he met on the hook-up app Grindr.

The suspect, Rev. Francis Hughes of St. Pancras Church, started the creepy relationship with the Westchester County teen in February after they met on the app, according to an indictment unsealed Wednesday.

After sending messages back and forth for a few minutes, the teen asked if he could send a sexually explicit image to Hughes, according to the indictment.

“I’d never get mad about that,” Hughes allegedly responded.

The teen then sent two sexually explicit photos to Hughes, who responded by sending his own nude photo to the kid, according to the indictment, which did not specify whether the priest knew the teen was underage.

The two then chatted about Hughes becoming his “sugar daddy” before the teen told him via text message that his Grindr account had been suspended.

Hughes was busted after the FBI executed a search warrant on the teen’s phone and found the texts, according to the indictment. it was unclear how investigators were first tipped off.

He’s awaiting presentment in White Plains federal court later today.

“The allegations against Francis Hughes are chilling and frightening to any parent,” acting US Attorney Audrey Strauss said in a statement.

“A person who, by the nature of his profession, is presumed to be trustworthy allegedly victimized a child. Thanks to the FBI, Hughes now faces a serious federal charge,” she added.

Hughes has been removed from his parish, a spokesperson for the diocese of Brooklyn said.
