#Pakistani man in werewolf mask arrested for scaring people

Maybe there was a full moon.

A Pakistani man has been detained for riding through the streets of Peshawar wearing a werewolf mask to scare people on New Year’s Eve, the Indian Express reported.

Asad Khan, a resident of the city’s Moti neighborhood, was reportedly making roaring noises while riding his motorcycle, according to the outlet, which cited Saama TV.

The furry suspect had a bone to pick with police, saying he wasn’t trying to frighten anyone – but was merely obeying the government’s mandate to wear a mask amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Social media users howled at the images of the short man, who is seen on his bike and chained later to a police officer – still wearing the grotesque mask.

“Maybe he didn’t want to take risk in such epidemic. That mask is a foolproof weapon for fighting against Covid-19,” one user said on Twitter.

Another wrote: “People get scared of the dude and don’t come out on new year during Covid times, everyone stays safe. Isn’t this a good thing?”

And a third said in a tweet that man “was reported to the police by a girl wearing a red riding hood.”

It was not immediately clear if the suspect has been charged.
