#My Hero Academia World Heroes’ Mission Comes in 4th in 1st North American Weekend

The latest My Hero Academia anime film finally got its first major international expansion this weekend, pushing its worldwide gross to over US$36 million and to the top of the My Hero Academia anime film rankings. My Hero Academia World Heroes’ Mission debuted in 4th place at the North American box office, while it came in 5th at the Australian box office.

 

As we previously reported on the weekend, World Heroes’ Mission opened on Friday in North America to second place, but fell over the entire weekend to 4th, making US$6.4 million across 1,602 theaters, and remaining in first place on a per-theater average ranking. 

 

Meanwhile down under, Numero reports that World Heroes’ Mission came in fifth place over the weekend behind the 20th Century Studios animated feature Ron’s Gone Wrong. It made AU$226,748 (US$169,268) over the weekend. It did not rank in the top 10 in New Zealand.

 

World Heroes’ Mission also did not rank in the top ten in the United Kingdom and Ireland, though Screen Daily reports that the film made £215,000 (US$293,000) over 260 theaters.

 

My Hero Academia World Heroes’ Mission’s worldwide total currently stands at US$36.45 million, though figures from Taiwan and South Africa have yet to be confirmed at the time of writing

My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission is currently showing in Japan, North American, Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., and Ireland from Funimation. You can watch the My Hero Academia TV anime series right here on Crunchyroll with the sixth season currently in production.
