#My Hero Academia Season 7 Releases Pro Heroes Visual

A new character visual has been released for the seventh season of My Hero Academia, which spotlights the Pro Heroes of the series. The new season will premiere in Japan on May 4, 2024.

Four recap specials with new footage titled My Hero Academia Memories will air on April 6, April 13, April 20, and April 27, leading up to the premiere of season seven in May 2024. The long-running anime series, produced by BONES, first premiered in 2016. The last season aired in October 2022 and ended in March 2023. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime outside of Japan. 

An upcoming fourth anime film will be released in Japanese theaters in Summer 2024.

Kenji Nagasaki (director of the first three seasons) returns as chief director for the anime’s seventh season, with Yousuke Kuroda as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Yoshihiko Umakoshi and Hitomi Odashima as character designers, and Yuuki Hayashi as music composer. Naomi Nakayama (Koikimo, Orange chief director), who has had some previous involvement with the anime, is serving as the series director. 

The anime is based on the superhero manga series by Kouhei Horikoshi, which was first launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on July 7, 2014 and has released 39 tankoubon volumes as of November 2023. The manga is published under the Jump Comics label.

Viz Media releases the My Hero Academia manga in English and describes the synopsis as:

Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny…
