The Issue: Anchor Chris Cuomo’s politically advising his brother, Gov. Cuomo, despite journalistic ethics.

CNN has decided it won’t take disciplinary action against Chris Cuomo (“CNN won’t punish its Dem-igod,” Kyle Smith, May 21).

This should prove once and for all that CNN is nothing more than an arm of the Democratic Party. Multiple CNN staffers admitted Cuomo violated traditional journalistic standards. If you can’t meet CNN’s low standards, yet it won’t discipline you, it shows how poorly CNN is run. As usual, the laws and standards that apply to the rest of us do not apply to the Cuomo brothers.

It looks like King Andrew Cuomo is taking advice from his court jester of a brother, Chris.

Chris Cuomo has been caught red-handed acting as a political consultant to Cuoligula, yet CNN — aptly referred to by Kyle Smith as the Cuomo Nepotism Network — predictably gave a mere slap on the wrist.

Our First Amendment-ignorant friend Chris said during last year’s summer-long George Floyd riots, “And please, show me where it says that protesters have to be polite and peaceful.” Will he now say: “Show me where it says I’m violating journalistic standards just because I love my big brother”? The curtain must come down on the stupid, kvetching Chris & Andy Show.

Who does Chris Cuomo think he is — the almighty expert on such issues? If he violated any protocol of CNN guidelines, then the network should immediately fire him.

Every day the scandalous Cuomo brothers continue to bury themselves deeper and deeper due to their arrogance and total lack of respect for any one.

This most recent type of behavior should come as no big surprise to anyone, given the track record of these two moronic idiots.

The Issue: Takeaways at home and abroad from the 11-day conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Fact: The United States has designated Hamas as a terrorist organization, with which it has no direct contact (“Media push propaganda over facts,” May 18).

Fact: Like previous conflicts, this latest one was started — totally unprovoked — by Hamas.

The Middle East situation is getting out of control. President Biden needs to be aggressive when it comes to foreign policy.

It strikes me that anti-Semitism is the only remaining prejudice in the United States that is regarded as excusable.

There’s a sense that Jews — because they have done relatively well in this country, at least financially— don’t require protection or alliances.

The violent reaction to the conflict in Israel lays bare the need for a Jewish country. That being said, it is a frightening time to be a Jew in America.

What has been happening in New York City must be addressed.

President Biden is showing a weak front by supporting Israel’s right to defend itself yet falling short of blaming Hamas for the most recent missile strikes against its neighbors.

It’s no wonder — the one talent this president has is talking out of two sides of his mouth.
