While appearing on the Not Skinny But Not Fat Apple podcast Tuesday, the Kardashians star explained: 

“He would ask me to go for sushi or vegan sushi, of course… He would ask me to go to the movies.”

Sounds good to us! She then revealed she once believed it couldn’t happen:

“I could never go. I could never.”

However, one trustworthy source made her think differently one day: her therapist. She explained that during a session, she opened up about the Blink-182 drummer’s attempts at courtship and how she always turned him down. The mental health professional offered: 

“‘Why? You know, he sounds like a good dad.’”

Good point!

As you probably know, the two now share a blended family of six total children, including 23-year-old Atiana De La Hoya, 18-year-old Landon Barker, 16-year-old Alabama Barker, 12-year-old Mason Disick, 10-year-old Penelope Disick, and 7-year-old Reign Disick. Kourtney responded to her therapist:

“I just was like, ‘But what if he tried to kiss me or what if he held my hand or what if?’”

We don’t have a Ph.D, but we feel like we could have answered that one…

Obviously Kourt ended up taking the advice and braving a date — and now a hop and a skip later, look where they are: married, and trying for a child of their own together, for which she noted:

“I feel — truly — like if it’s meant to be, It’ll happen.”

Awww, we love that Kourt opened herself up to love and is now happier than ever. We hope to see them together for a long, long time! Also, yay therapy, right??
