#Kotaro Lives Alone Gets Trailer, March 10 Premiere

Netflix has released a full trailer for Kotaro Lives Alone, in addition to revealing a March 10 premiere date for the upcoming show.

Meanwhile, Mami Tsumura, the author of the manga that Kotaro Lives Alone is based on, tweeted additional cast details for the anime. The newly revealed cast members include Yumiri Hanamori as Ayano Kobayashi, Souma Saitou as Aota, Kaito Ishikawa as Ryouta, Yuuka Morishima as Touko, and Minami Shinoda as Takuya.

Previously revealed cast members include Rie Kugimiya as the titular character, Toshiki Masuda as his neighbor Karino, Saori Hayami as Mizuki Akitomo, and Junichi Suwabe as Isamu Tamaru.

The Kotaro Lives Alone manga began in 2015 and has nine tankoubon volumes as of February 2022. The manga is serialized in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior magazine and published under the Big Comics label. It previously inspired a television drama.

Netflix describes the show as: 

Ding-dong! There is a little boy standing at the door. He hands over a nice box of tissues as a gift and says, “My name is Satou, and I have just moved in to number 203. Pleased to make your acquaintance.” He is Satou Kotaro, and he has moved into Shimizu Apartments to live by himself. He is four years old. He makes his daily shopping trips alone with a toy sword strapped to his side. Both grown-up and childish at the same time, Kotaro starts to affect the people around him with his wise ways. This is the story of a four-year-old boy who is determined to live strong until the day he can live with his parents.

Kotaro Lives Alone‘s staff includes Tomoe Makino (Woodpecker’s Detective Office) as director, Yuu Satou (Space Battleship Tiramisu) as series composer, Tomomi Kimura (Kochouki ~ Wakaki Nobunaga ~ co-sub character designer) as character designer, Yukihiro Saito (Farewell, My Dear Cramer) as art director, Akira Hashigami and Asami Kitsukawa (Kaginado) as color designers, Mami Takamura (Cells at Work! BLACK assistant photography director) as photography director, and Yuuya Mori (Kemono Jihen) as music composer. Liden FIlms is the animation production company.
