#Husband admits killing missing New Hampshire wife inside bus

The husband of a missing New Hampshire woman confessed to killing his wife inside a small bus converted into a living space, state police said.

Joseph Ferlazzo, 41, told investigators Tuesday he killed Emily Ferlazzo, 22, of Northfield, New Hampshire, early Saturday inside the bus they had lived in and used to travel to Bolton late last week, Vermont State Police said in a statement.

Cops later recovered a body believed to be his wife inside the van, which was seized earlier in the day in St. Albans. He was ordered held without bail and is set to be arraigned on a first-degree murder charge Wednesday morning, state police said.

A medical examiner will perform an autopsy to confirm Ferlazzo’s identity and determine how she died.

State troopers found Joseph Ferlazzo at a convenience store in St. Albans and agreed to speak with investigators. The couple’s dog, Remington, was also found unharmed at the home of Ferlazzo’s friend, state police said.

Emily Ferlazzo was last seen in Bolton on Saturday. Her disappearance was considered to be “suspicious,” prompting concerns of her whereabouts. Her husband told her relatives in New Hampshire they had been staying at an Airbnb vacation rental in Bolton, where they had an argument while traveling in their camper van and she left the vehicle, state police said.

“Mr. Ferlazzo told the family that he proceeded to a convenience store in Bolton, and when he returned to the area where he had last seen Mrs. Ferlazzo, she was gone,” state police said in a statement.

Emily Ferlazzo’s family reported her missing late Monday as soon as they learned about her disappearance. State troopers were trying to locate her husband, but had been unable to do so prior to Tuesday.

“The information he provided was that he had killed his wife, Emily, said that he had done so in the town of Bolton in the early Saturday morning hours,” Vermont State Police Maj. Dan Trudeau told reporters, according to NECN. “We did find human remains in that van tonight, which we believe will be Emily’s.”

Trudeau declined to elaborate Tuesday on how investigators believe Emily Ferlazzo was killed, VTDigger.org reported.
