“#How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? OP Theme MV Finally Reaches 200 Million Views”

The official Japanese website for the TV anime adaptation of Yabako Sandrovich (story) and MAAM (art)’s weight training-themed comedy manga How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? has announced that the music video for its OP theme song “Onegai Muscle” has been watched over 200 million times on YouTube since July 2019.

The song itself was performed by Fairouz Ai, the voice of the protagonist Hibiki Sakura, and Kaito Ishikawa, the voice of Naruzo Machio. It was released on July 24, 2019, as her first anime theme song work after her debut as a voice actress. As reported, the special live-action clip starring muscle idol / professional wrestler Reika Saiki and real bodybuilder Naotaka Yokokawa (the winner of the Tokyo Bodybuilding Championship in 2017) reached 150 million views in February of this year, which means it has attracted 50 million more views only in five months.

Fairouz Ai has commented on this milestone, “To all the trainees who have watched this video, Arigato Gozaimuscular!” And the site has posted two congratulatory illustrations by the original manga’s illustrator MAAM and the anime’s character designer Ai Kikuchi.
