Police searched a field in northern Germany Tuesday in connection to the 2007 disappearance of Madeleine McCann, according to reports.

A grassy area in Hanover was being scoured by the Federal Criminal Police Office in conjunction with the public prosecutor’s office in Braunschweig, Newswire reported, citing German media.

The British tot was staying at a resort in Praia da Luz, Portugal when she vanished at the age of 3.

Her case went cold for years before authorities got a break last month, identifying convicted German pedophile Christian Brueckner as the prime suspect.

German authorities believe McCann is dead — and allegedly have significant evidence that Brueckner killed Madeleine but not enough to charge him.
