#Eizouken!, March comes in like a lion, ON-GAKU Win Grand Prizes at 24th Japan Media Arts Festival

Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!

 

The 24th Japan Media Arts Festival announced its winners today, revealing that the already hugely award-winning TV anime series Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! won the grand prize in the animation division, and much-beloved manga March comes in like a lion taking the same crown in the manga division. More great works from the last year won honors, which can be seen below.

 

Every year, The Agency for Cultural Affairs inside the Government of Japan holds a media arts festival to “honor outstanding works from a diverse range of media – from animation and comics to media art and games.” The festival gives out awards in four different categories: art, entertainment, animation, and manga. This year’s winners include:

 

 

Animation Division:

 

Grand Prize – Keep Your Hands off Eizouken! (Science Saru)

 

Excellence Awards

 

Violet Evergarden: the Movie (Kyoto Animation)
A Whisker Away (Studio Colorido)
MARONA’S FANTASTIC TALE (Romanian animation)
Grey to Green (Chilean animation)

 

Entertainment Division:

Innocent Rouge by Shinichi Sakamoto

Japanese voice actor Masako Nozawa, known as the voice of Goku in Dragon Ball, was recognized with a Special Achievement Award alongside Momotaro Dentetsu video game creator Akira Sakuma.
