#Jordan Peele-Produced ‘Him’ Reveals New Title, September 2025 Release Date

The Jordan Peele-produced psychological horror film set in the world of football has revealed its official title — Him — and a Sept. 19, 2025 release date in theaters. Universal and Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions announced the news Thursday.

Justin Tipping is directing the movie, which stars Marlon Wayans as a legendary quarterback tasked with training a rising young athlete, played by Tyriq Withers. The film’s working title was GOAT.

Him came out of a pitch from Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie. Peele will produce along with Win Rosenfeld, Ian Cooper and Jamal Watson.

The film also stars Julia Fox, Tim Heidecker, comedian Jim Jefferies, and hip hop phenoms Guapdad 4000 and Grammy nominee Tierra Whack, both in their feature film debuts.

Wayans is coming off of work in Ben Affleck’s awards contender Air, about Nike’s quest to sign a young Michael Jordan, with other acting credits in recent years including the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect and Sofia Coppola’s On the Rocks. He came up with comedic roles, such as on the WB ’90s sit-com The Wayans Bros., and with early big-screen hits including Scary Movie and White Chicks.

More to come.
