#Sci-fi Action Donghua The Defective to join Funimation Summer 2021 lineup

Funimation announced that The Defective (Can Ci Pin: Fangzhu Xingkong) will join the Summer 2021 simulcast starting July 30. The show is based on the 2017 novel written by Priest (Drowning Sorrows in Raging Fire, Silent Reading). 

Following the recent Chinese animation or donghua additions of Heaven Official’s Blessing and LINK CLICK, The Defective will be Funimation’s third Chinese animation simulcast on the platform.

The sci-fi action series will be animated by bilibili and LX Animation Studio. Funimation describes the series as: 

The series follows Lu Bixing and Lin Jingheng, two very different men caught up in a futuristic dystopia where mind-link tech known as Eden controls society. One out of every hundred people can’t interface with Eden and are deemed “defective” as outcasts. These two will work together to fight against this unjust world.
