#Detectives These Days Are Crazy! Adds Chado Horii as Cerberus the Cat

Voice actor Chado Horii is joining the voice cast of the upcoming Detectives These Days Are Crazy! TV anime series, in commemoration of the unofficial Japanese holiday, “Neko no Hi,” also known as “Cat Day.” The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan sometime in 2025, with additional main staff and animation studio details still unconfirmed. 

Horii will be voicing the cat Cerberus, who is featured prominently in this half-hour long promo video of the character. 

He joins a main voice cast that is headlined by: 

• • Junichi Suwabe as Keiichiro Nagumo
• • Kana Hanazawa as Mashiro Nakanishi
• • Tomohiro Yamaguchi as Yu Asunaro
• • Aya Hirano as Hana Kazamaki
• • Tomokazu Sugita as Nipple-Tasting Man/Cross Chest Hair Man/Man Who Likes Ropes

Rion Kujo (The Legendary Hero Is Dead!, Wanna be the Strongest in the World!) is directing the anime adaptation. It is also known in Japan as Mattaku Saikin no Tantei Tokitara.  

The original comedic mystery manga by Masakuni Igarashi was first launched in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Maoh magazine on April 27, 2016 and has released 15 tankobon volumes as of August 2024.

One Peace Books licensed the Detectives These Days Are Crazy! manga for English release, describing the main synopsis as: 

Behold, a great detective who thrills the world solving impossible cases in no time! His name? Keiichiro Nagumo. … But all of that was over a decade ago. Now he’s just your typical middle-aged dude. Nagumo is behind the times to the point that he doesn’t even know what a smartphone is. But out of the blue, he is confronted by a high school girl named Mashiro who shows up wanting to be his assistant. Witness the miracles a gender-gap detective duo can make!
