It seems Jerry Jones really isn’t messing around.

The Cowboys brought their own benches to FedEx Field ahead of Sunday’s NFC East showdown against the Washington Football Team, days after head coach Mike McCarthy guaranteed a Dallas victory.

Photos of the Cowboys’ sideline surfaced Sunday morning on Twitter, with Mitchell Tischler of NBC Sports Washington noting that “the opposing team controls their sideline so FedEx/WFT can’t stop it.”

“Frist time and only team that’s ever done that at FedEx… wild,” Tischler wrote in a separate message.

According to ESPN, the Cowboys heard from the Seahawks that their “hotseat benches” during a road loss to Washington in Week 12 were going out during the game. Dallas then “partnered with” a company in Cleveland to have its benches shipped to Landover, Md. for Sunday’s game.

The Cowboys (8-4) remain in first place in their division, but the Football Team (6-6) has continued to surge in recent weeks, winning four of their last five games, including a Week 10 victory over the Buccaneers.

McCarthy, who is in his second year with the Cowboys, stirred up some controversy earlier this week after promising that Dallas will walk away with a victory on Sunday.

“We’re comfortable with who we are and where we are,” McCarthy said. “I’m excited about what’s in front of us. We’re going to win this game. I’m confident in that.”

Unsurprisingly, players on the opposing sideline later weighed in on McCarthy’s bold statement.

“The only guarantee in this world is death and taxes,” Washington defensive lineman Jonathan Allen said.

Ron Rivera, Washington’s second-year head coach, also chastised McCarthy’s choice of words.

“He’s now made it about him and what he said,” Rivera said to the Washington media. “It’s not about his players anymore. I think that’s a big mistake. That’s why, to me, you don’t say those things. At the end of the day we [coaches] don’t line up and play.”

Rivera continued, “The biggest thing that I look at … is what happens on Sundays. All this other stuff is interesting [until] you play the game. That’s the thing that matters.”

Seems both benches at FedEx Field will be fiery come Sunday afternoon.
