Aniplex of America has announced that TYPE-MOON’s WITCH ON THE HOLY NIGHT visual novel will be released digitally in English on December 8, 2022 for PlayStation 4 and Switch for $39.99.

A limited edition physical release will follow on January 27, 2023 for $59.99. A demo version of the game is available starting today on the PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop. 

The visual novel was originally released for PC in 2012, with the upcoming console release being described as a fully voiced and full HD port of the original. An anime movie adaptation produced by Ufotable will premiere in 2023.

Aniplex of America describes the game as: 

Set in 1980s Japan, WITCH ON THE HOLY NIGHT tells the story of fan-favorite TYPE-MOON character Aoko Aozaki as she attempts to navigate the complex world of magecraft while also dealing with the everyday struggles of life as a high school student! Players will experience the thrilling origin story of this much-beloved character, penned by Kinoko Nasu, famed creator of the Fate series, himself!

Kinoko Nasu is the director and scenario writer of the visual novel, while Hirokazu Koyama is its character designer, key frame artist, and chief graphics director. Hideyuki Fukasawa, Keita Haga, James Harris, and hil are the soundtrack composers, while Tsukurimonoji is credited with the script and arrangement. Haruka Tomatsu voices the protagonist.
