Following the main clip, the official YouTube channel for the TOKYO MEW MEW NEW project has also posted a dance performance version music video for one of the two startup songs, “bitter sweet darling,” by its five-member voice actress unit Smewthie. The song was digitally released on March 22, 2021.

As part of the 20th-anniversary of the Tokyo Mew Mew manga created by Reiko Yoshida (story) and Mia Ikumi (arts), the new anime project was launched in April 2020. The new TV anime series TOKYO MEW MEW NEW is set to premiere in Japan sometime in 2022, and the unit’s five members, who were chosen in the open audition, will also voice the anime’s main characters.
