In the latest September 2021 issue of Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret released today in Japan, it was officially announced that a live-action TV drama adaptation of Wataru Hinekure (story) and Aruko (art)’s shoujo manga Kieta Hatsukoi / Vanishing My First Love is set to be aired on Japanese terrestrial stations in October 2021.

The romantic comedy manga has been serialized in the magazine since its July 2019 issue, and its latest sixth tankobon volume is set to be released in Japan on August 25, 2021. Its story writer Wataru Hinekure was the winner of the first LINE Manga Indie Shueisha Girls Manga Grand Prix’s special prize, while its illustrator Aruko is best known for her hit series Ore Monogatari!! / My Love Story!!, which also got its live-action film adaptation and TV anime adaptation in 2015.

Hinekure says, “Thank you for the dramatization. I’m really looking forward to seeing the new Aoki and his friends with the wonderful cast and production team!” And Aruko adds, “I thought it would be interesting to make a drama based on it, so I thought, ‘Here it comes!’ and ‘Yes!.’ Now I’m really excited.”

The manga’s story follows Aoki, who has had a crush Hashimoto, a girl sitting next to him. One day, Aoki sees an eraser he borrowed from Hashimoto with a heart and a name that seems to be Ida’s, a serious boy in the same class. Furthermore, Ida sees the eraser and mistakenly thinks it is Aoki’s…
