#Voice Actress Kana Hanazawa Moves to Pony Canyon, Releases New Single “Moonlight Magic” on September 29

Popular anime voice actress Kana Hanazawa (Kuroneko in Oreimo, Ichika Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets) announced on July 1 that she will move her artist label to Pony Canyon. Her voice actress activities will continue to be managed by Office Osawa.

She made her solo singer debut from Aniplex in April 2012, then moved SACRA MUSIC in April 2017. While working as one of the most popular anime voice actresses, she has released 13 singles and five original albums so far.

Her first single from Pony Canyon, “Moonlight Magic” is already set to be released on September 29, 2021. It will her first single in three years since her previous 13th single “Daijoubu” released in July 2018. The lyrics of the song are written by herself. The CD single will also include a coupling song “Minato no Mieru Oka” (A hill with a harbor view), also written by herself, as well as the Chinese lyric version of the two songs.

Message from Kana Hanazawa:

I have decided to move from ANIPLEX and SACRA MUSIC, where I have been for about nine years, to Pony Canyon. This is a positive reason for me to actively deliver music for many years to come. I am very happy to be able to take on new challenges without worry, along with the staff that I have usually worked with on anime.

While it has been frustrating to not be able to see everyone who has been supporting me, due to the COVID-19 calamity, we have been working hard with the music producer, Katsutoshi Kitagawa, to create songs. We have a lot of great songs in the works, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear them.

The first single, “Moonlight Magic,” was composed by Katsutoshi Kitagawa and the lyrics were written by me. We put all our energy, which has grown over the past nine years, into this sparkling song reminiscent of “Hoshizora Destination.” I put my wish that people will cherish the time when they feel happy because the world is so tight now into the lyrics.

First of all, I’m looking forward to this song reaching everyone, and to seeing you again in that happy space at the live concert. Thank you for your continued support!
