Two 16-year-old girls were shot in a two-hour span overnight in the Bronx — becoming the latest victims of the surging gun violence in Gotham, police said Tuesday.

The first act of gunplay broke out just before 11:45 p.m. Monday in the Crotona section of the Bronx, where an unknown triggerman opened fire on a group of people hanging out on the street, cops said.

A 16-year-old girl and a 21-year-old man were hit by gunfire in their right legs, police said. Both were taken to St. Barnabas, where they were expected to recover.

Just over an hour later, a 50-year-old man was shot in the left shoulder in Brooklyn, police said.

The man was outside NYCHA’s Wyckoff apartments in Boerum Hill when a white SUV rolled up and someone inside opened fire before speeding off, cops said.

EMS took the man to Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

Another act of gunplay unfolded less than 45 minutes later in the Bronx, where a second teen was hit by a bullet, according to cops.

Police said the 16-year-old girl was grazed on the buttocks while standing outside 1330 Intervale Ave. and taken to Lincoln Hospital.

Gunplay has plagued Gotham of late, with authorities appearing unable to curb the violence.

On Thursday, five people were shot in three separate shootings, according to the NYPD. Last year, there were four shootings with four incidents on the same day in 2019, which was a Saturday, when historically more shootings break out.

Shootings were up more than 176 percent over the last month — with 199 shootings reported compared to 72 over the same time last year, according to data the NYPD released Monday.

Over the weekend, the city surpassed a grim milestone of more than 1,000 shooting victims — a week after the number of shooting incidents surpassed all of 2019, with five months still left on the books.

Arrests for firearms have ticked up slightly over the last two weeks compared to the weeks prior — but collars were still down last week nearly 30 percent compared to last year.
