Christmas came early for NYPD Detective Dalsh Veve.

Veve, who suffered a traumatic brain injury after being dragged several Brooklyn blocks three years ago, learned Friday that the Tunnel to Towers Foundation was paying off the mortgage of his Long Island home.

Esther Veve, who was standing next to her husband at One Police Plaza, said she was filled with joy when Tunnel to Towers Foundation CEO Frank Siller made the generous gift.

“It’s definitely a burden lifted off my shoulders,” she said at the ceremony, which can be viewed on the NYPD’s Facebook page.

“No more worries. No more concerns. No more monthly reminders.”

Veve’s is one of 36 mortgages that the foundation will be paying off as part of its “Season of Hope,” which began on Thanksgiving and runs through the end of the year.

“Your strength and resilience is remarkable,” Siller said. “You are showing us all how to live.”

Veve was responding to a loud house party on June 3, 2017 when a heartless Crips gang member struck and dragged him for three blocks in East New York.

The incident has left Veve wheelchair-bound and in need of 24-hour care.

In January 2019, suspect Justin Murrell was sentenced to just 1 ⅓ to 4 years behind bars and was freed after only 14 months.

At Friday’s ceremony, NYPD Police Commissioner Dermot Shea commended Veve for his heroism.

“Dalsh is a truly remarkable, shining member of our police department, and I couldn’t be more proud of him,” Shea said.
