#Tsukihime Visual Novel Remake Unveils 3rd PV, Game Cover Art And New Characters

TYPE-MOON revealed on YouTube the third promo video for the Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon-, which is the remake of the Tsukihime dōjin visual novel game. The PV showcased two new characters and unveiled the game’s cover art. The cover art was drawn by character designer Takashi Takeuchi.

Joining the cast are Ai Kayano as Noel, who is an English and physical education teacher who transferred to Shiki’s school, and Ayane Sakura as Mario Gallo Bestino, an acting young priest who has been assigned to Japan from the church.

The Tsukihime remake is scheduled to launch on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on August 26 this year. The main voice cast includes Ryōsuke Kanemoto as Shiki Tohno, Ikumi Hasegawa as Arcueid Brunestud, Kaede Hondo as Ciel, Shino Shimoji as Akiha Tohno, Yūki Kuwahara as Kohaku, and Kana Ichinose as Hisui. The current cast differs from the 2003 Lunar Legend Tsukihime television anime adaptation.

Kinoko Nasu returns to write and direct the remake, while Takashi Takeuchi is again in charge of character design. ReoNa is performing the theme song “Seimeisen” (“Lifeline”) and ufotable is animating the opening.

The original dōjin game by TYPE-MOON first launched in the 2000 Winter Comic Market. The Lunar Legend Tsukihime television anime adaptation premiered with 12 episodes in 2003.

A manga version by Sasakishonen was drawn in 2004, with DrMaster releasing six of the 10 volumes of the series in English. Following the manga releases for Tsukihime, mangaka Takeru Kirishima illustrated three sequels titled Melty Blood, Melty Blood X, and Melty Blood: Rojiura Nightmare. Kadokawa Shoten published the final compiled volume in 2010.

The Visual Novel Database describes the original visual novel as:

This story is about a young boy named Tohno Shiki who, after experiencing a traumatic accident, wakes up in the hospital with the ability to see lines and cracks in every surface and being. These lines, when traced with any sharp or blunt edge, will be permanently cut. As he is forced to see these lines everywhere, Shiki is distraught until he meets a mage girl who gives him glasses that allow him to live a normal life.

Years later, after living in a relative’s home, the death of his father has him summoned back to the mansion he left years ago. There he must learn to live with his younger sister and two maid girls.

One day Shiki’s life takes a turn for the worst when, on the way to school, he meets a blonde woman and he’s overcome with the urge to kill her.
