President Trump on Tuesday called on Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers to quickly put an end to the violent riots that have rocked the city of Kenosha in the aftermath of the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

The president, in a tweet, also urged Evers to call in The National Guard — although the governor had already done so on Monday.

“Governor should call in the National Guard in Wisconsin. It is ready, willing, and more than able. End problem FAST!” the president tweeted.

A total of 150 National Guard members were deployed to the city Monday ahead of the second night of unrest that saw fires set to several buildings and confrontations between law enforcement and police, the Kenosha News reported.

By Tuesday, at the request of Repulican lawmakers, Evers called in reinforcements from the National Guard, the newspaper reported.

No one was reported injured on Monday, said Sgt. David Wright of the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department.

One law enforcement officer was hurt when struck with a brick during Sunday night’s protests. Demonstrations broke out that night, hours after footage emerged showing Blake, who is black, being shot in the back by a white Kenosha police officer.

Blake, 29, was paralyzed from the waist down in the shooting, his father said on Tuesday.
