#9-year-old boy receives thousands of adoption inquiries after emotional plea

A 9-year-old Oklahoma boy in foster care has received thousands of adoption inquiries after he made a heartbreaking plea on TV saying he’d “just like to have a family.”

Jordan, who has been in the foster care system for six years, told news station KFOR that he’s desperate for a permanent home after his biological younger brother, Braison, was adopted,

“I would just like to have a family to call mom and dad or just mom or just dad. I don’t really care,” said Jordan, who currently lives at a group home, in a news segment about his adoptions hopes.

Asked where he’d go if he could anywhere in the world, he responded, “to an adoption party for a home.”

In the touching clip, Jordan added that he wants a family so he “could have some people to talk to anytime I need to.”

“I hope one of y’all pick me,” he said.

There have been more than 5,000 submissions to adopt him in the 12 hours since the segment aired, TMZ reported.

“I’m in the process of reading through those profiles to select a family to try to move forward with,” Christopher Marlowe, who works for the state’s department of human services, told KFOR.

“I’m really excited about this and very hopeful this is going to be the breakthrough we needed to find this kid a home,” he added.
