#Trump mocks Gov. Larry Hogan over faulty COVID-19 tests

President Trump on Sunday mocked Maryland’s Republican governor after a report revealed he spent millions in state funds for faulty COVID-19 tests from South Korea.

“Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, Anti-Trump Hero, Paid for Flawed Coronavirus Tests from South Korea,” the president said in a tweet, referring to Breitbart story relaying a report that ran in the Washington Post last week.

“This RINO will never make the grade. Hogan is just as bad as the flawed tests he paid big money for!” Trump wrote, using the acronym for a Republican in Name Only.

The Washington Post reported that Hogan spent $9.46 million in state funds to import 500,000 coronavirus tests from South Korea.

When those tests were determined to be flawed, Hogan authorized $2.5 million for 500,000 replacement masks from the same company.

The tweet also comes after Hogan, a frequent critic of the president, said on CNN that he is “embarrassed that more people” in the Republican Party haven’t spoken out against the Trump’s refusal to concede the 2020 election and ongoing legal actions to challenge the results.

“We were the most respected country with respect to elections,” Hogan said on “State of the Union.” “And now, we’re beginning to look like we’re a banana republic. It’s time for them to stop the nonsense.”

He also said that he’s confident that President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn-in on Jan. 20, but “I’m not sure I could say that I’m confident that the president’s going to do the right thing.
