■ Story
Bracers.
Their mission is to protect the safety of civilians and the peace of cities, which often means fighting monsters and criminals alike.
Untethered by borders or allegiances, they are greatly admired by many young children who dream of becoming Bracers themselves.
One such admirer is Estelle, a girl living near the city of Rolent in the Kingdom of Liberl. Her father is a Bracer, and she too, aspires to walk that path.
Estelle trains day and night to become a Bracer alongside her adopted brother, Joshua.
One day Estelle’s father, Cassius, receives a letter.
Upon reading the letter, Cassius announces his departure on urgent business, leaving Estelle and Joshua behind.
The siblings, now Junior Bracers, take on the job that was originally for their father.
And thus, they take their first steps as true Bracers.
■ Characters
Cassius Bright (voiced by Kyle Hebert in English, Kenji Hamada in Japanese)
A father and mentor to Estelle.
Estelle’s father. A dashing middle-aged man with a strong build and a striking mustache.
As a veteran Bracer, he has been active not only in Liberl but across the entire continent. In addition to Estelle and Joshua, he is also the mentor of Scherazard.
His bold decision to adopt Joshua, along with his amiable and mischievous personality, earned him the nickname of “deadbeat dad” by his daughter Estelle.
He is a master swordsman who perfected the “Eight Leaves One Blade” sword style, and was formerly known by the title of “Sword Saint.”
Professor Alba (voiced by David Lodge in English, Nobuo Tobita in Japanese)
An ever-smiling, penniless archaeologist.
A destitute archaeologist who came to the Kingdom of Liberl to study ancient ruins.
He has a calm, gentle demeanor and always wears a friendly smile on his face.
Despite his timid nature, his passion for research drives him to venture into dangerous places, often leading to unlucky encounters with monsters.
Aina Holden (voiced by Katiana Sarkissian in English, Sayumi Suzushiro in Japanese)
A receptionist of the Bracer Guild’s Rolent branch.
A woman who works as the receptionist of the Kingdom of Liberl Bracer Guild’s Rolent branch.
She graciously supports Estelle and Joshua, who aspire to become full-fledged Bracers.
Contrary to her appearance, she can give her close friend Scherazard a run for her money when it comes to drinking.
Nial Burns (voiced by Michael Allan Schneider in English, Satoshi Tsuruoka in Japanese)
The ace reporter for the Liberl News.
A sharp reporter for the Liberl News.
He’s a scruffy-looking heavy smoker, but his skill as a journalist is undeniable, and will face any danger for the sake of an exclusive scoop.
As the chaperone of his junior photographer, Dorothy, he finds himself constantly at a loss in the face of her eccentric behavior, but the two make a good, if rather chaotic, pair.
He ends up asking Estelle and Joshua to be his bodyguards while visiting Rolent in search of his next big scoop.
Dorothy Hyatt (voiced by Cat Protano in English, Hikaru Tono in Japanese)
An airheaded, carefree novice photographer.
The novice photographer of the Liberl News.
A ditzy, airheaded girl with a carefree personality. She constantly frustrates her senior reporter, Nial, but is completely oblivious to this fact.
Her skills with a camera are top-notch, and although her shooting style is unconventional, she captures breathtaking photos.
Josette Capua (voiced by Risa Mei in English, Anna Nagase in Japanese)
A noble student of the Royal Academy.
A female student from the prestigious Jenis Royal Academy in Ruan.
Despite her aristocratic background, she is down-to-earth and never flaunts her status.
As part of her research, she seemingly studies cultural artifacts from various regions, and happens to meet Estelle and the others in Rolent during the academy’s break.
■ Keywords
Bracers
Members of an international organization founded on the principle of maintaining peace and protecting civilians. Bracers are entrusted with duties such as responding to civilian requests, exterminating monsters, and preventing crime.
With branches all over the continent, its international and neutral status makes Bracers key players in mediating international conflicts.
Orbments
Mechanical units powered by a mysterious energy known as “Orbal Energy”.
Inside each Orbment are circuits made of Septium, a crystallized material. Depending on the structure, each Orbment can produce a wide range of effects.
Invented about 50 years ago by Dr. C. Epstein, Orbments quickly spread across the continent, becoming the foundation for diverse technological advancements, including lighting, communications, machinery, weapons, data records, and even airships.
The Kingdom of Liberl
Located in the southwest of the Zemurian Continent, Liberl is a small kingdom of rich natural beauty and royal traditions.
Although it lacks the power of its neighboring countries, its abundant Septium, advanced technology, and exemplary diplomacy have allowed Liberl to maintain equal footing in international relations.
10 years ago, the kingdom suffered great losses at the hands of the powerful Erebonian Empire of the north, but has since maintained a lasting peace under the leadership of Queen Alicia von Auslese II.
■ World
Rolent
A tranquil city between the royal capital of Grancel and the commercial hub Bose, Rolent is best known for its central clock tower, a local landmark.
Rolent’s local economy centers around agriculture and Septium mining. Its high-quality Septium, indispensable for Orbal technology, supports Liberl’s Orbal technology industry.
Life in Rolent is slow and calm, and the city itself is old-fashioned. However, with an airship terminal in the city, convenient travel to and from other regions is still possible.
Malga Mine
A mine north of Rolent that serves as a key industrial location for both Rolent and the Orbment industry of the entire Kingdom of Liberl. Mine carts and elevators within allow for smooth transportation between excavation sites.
Jade Tower
One of the Tetracycle Towers. Its ancient ruins shine with a bluish-green light.
Perzel Farm
This family-run farm primarily cultivates fresh vegetables, but also raises livestock and chickens. Thanks to the Orbal energy-powered greenhouse, fresh fruits and produce can be harvested regardless of the season.
