This is Us, NBC’s hit drama series that has grabbed critical attention and high ratings over the years has reached the final leg of its journey. NBC recently released the first trailer for the Sixth and Final Season of this critically acclaimed show starring the likes of Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, and more. The concluding season of This is Us will comprise a total of 16 episodes.

The trailer, featuring the Cyndi Lauper song “Time after time”, promises an emotional farewell to these beloved characters and is as heartfelt as This is Us gets. As part of its broadcast during this year’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, NBC also aired a segment of the trailer on Thursday, November 25.

The trailer follows Rebecca Pearson, who is currently struggling to hold on to her memories in her old age. She is seen reminiscing about various moments from her life, ones that viewers have seen in the previous seasons of the show. Rebecca’s words to Jack, as seen in the trailer, are synonymous with what the final leg of This is Us is trying to tell the fans about this farewell:

The emotional and heartfelt run of ‘This is Us’ is coming to an end with the upcoming Season

Created in 2016 by Dan Fogelman, This is Us follows the rather ordinary and imperfect family of the Pearsons, as they navigate through their daily lives with new challenges, both social and personal. The show has been relatable to almost everyone through its entire run and has been a heartfelt and emotional experience throughout. Every Season uncovers new issues, and how the members of the family, now scattered adults with separate lives, approach them. The show has gifted its viewers some unforgettable moments, ones that Rebecca now struggles to hold on to. As she says in the trailer:

I’m not worried about forgetting about the big stuff. It’s the little things I’m not ready to let go of yet.

The beloved cast of the show, featuring Milo Ventimiglia (Jack), Mandy Moore (Rebecca), Sterling K. Brown (Randall), Chrissy Metz (Kate), and Justin Hartley (Kevin), has returned for the final season. Insiders from This is Us had already been planning to conclude the show in its Sixth Season, and in 2019 the show was renewed by NBC until the same.

The final season of This is Us is set to release on the 4th of January, 2022.
