Tim Westwood has stepped down from his Capital Xtra show amid sexual misconduct allegations made by multiple women earlier in April. The station’s parent company made the announcement official on Wednesday (April 27).

Three women accused Westwood of predatory sexual behavior while four others alleged that he groped them at events while having their picture taken together, according to a joint investigation conducted by the BBC and The Guardian.

Three venues previously canceled appearances set to be made by the famous DJ since the allegations were made public earlier this week.

“Following the claims that have recently come to light, Tim Westwood has stepped down from his show until further notice,” a spokesperson for Global relayed.

All of the women are Black and were said to be in their late teens or early 20’s when the incidents took place with a range of years dating back to the 1990s up until 2017.

A rep for the 64-year-old vehemently denied any wrongdoing when confronted with the allegations.

“Any suggestion that he acts, or has acted, in the way described would be false and seriously defamatory,” his lawyers said.

Women made their allegations against the British veteran DJ public during a BBC documentary titled Tim Westwood: Abuse of Power, which first aired on Tuesday night (April 26) in the UK.

It’s currently not known who or what program will replace his show on Capital XTRA.
