The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie has had a stellar run for the past 10 weeks, and just now left the box office top 10 in Japan with the latest reports. That disappearance may not last for long, though, because 91 additional theaters will be screening the film starting on July 29.

A new key visual debuted to celebrate the expanded run.

The 136-minute sequel film to the anime adaptation of Negi Haruba’s romantic comedy manga was released in 108 theaters across Japan on May 20, 2022. Despite its small number of theaters, it made its second place debut with an impressive 267 million yen (2.09 million USD) on 200,000 admissions. The film was also critically acclaimed and ranked No.1 on Filmarks’ first day satisfaction ranking with an average rating of 4.15/5.0 based on 520 reviews.

Last month, it reached the milestone of one million tickets sold.
