Counting On Season 11 isn’t going to shy away from the topic of miscarriages

There are a number of subjects that are considered “taboo.” One of those is the talk of miscarriages and stillbirths. And yet, it happens to so many women, it’s something that needs to be discussed. Counting On isn’t afraid to cover the topic in the most recent season.

It all started with the quarantine special that kicked off the new season. Well, more like the episode afterward. Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth talked about their loss. We got to see them lay a headstone for their daughter, Annabell Elise, along with a plant. While Annabell will not grow, the plant will be the lifeforce she should have had.

Throughout the section in the episode, Joy-Anna focused on the support from her family. Her mom and sisters-in-law understand what she was going through at the time of the loss. Soap Dirt reminds us that Michelle Duggar lost two babies and Joy-Anna’s sisters-in-law, Lauren and Anna, have both suffered miscarriages.

There’s another miscarriage to come on Counting On

These topics can be triggering for many. If this is a topic that is triggering for you, it’s worth knowing that the new episode on Tuesday, July 14 will also include a story of loss.

Shortly after moving to California, Jinger Dugger learned that she was pregnant again. It should have been an exciting time, but shortly after sharing the news with her family, she learned she lost the baby.

This is something that the show is going to cover in the episode. Jinger and Jeremy have been open about their loss, but they made it clear they would go into more details during the new season. This isn’t just a chance to hear from them, but to see how the family comes together at a time like this.

With the loss already being raw for Joy-Anna, it’s a chance for these two sisters to grow closer; to be the support each other needs. When things are hard, the Duggar family knows how to come together. They know the support each other needs.

Most importantly, this isn’t a topic that’s going to just be swept under the rug. It’s not a taboo subject. It is perfectly fine to feel the way you do after a loss. Showing that on a show like Counting On is important and a positive re-enforcement.
