#The Misfit of Demon King Academy Announces New Anos Voice Actor

The Misfit of Demon King Academy‘s Twitter page has revealed Yuuichirou Umehara to be the new voice of protagonist Anos Voldigord. This comes after a December 10 announcement that the previous voice actor, Tatsuhisa Suzuki, would no longer be playing the role.

The Misfit of Demon King Academy‘s second season is currently in production and will have a split-cour format. It was announced in March 2021. The first season aired in 2020 and ran for 13 episodes.

Anos Voldigord was a tyrannical Demon King that eradicated humans, spirits, and even the gods, but became bored of eternal warfare and reincarnated with dreams of a peaceful world. However, what awaited him in reincarnation after 2000 years were descendants who became too weak after being accustomed to peace, and all sorts of magic that deteriorated to the extreme. Anos enters Demon King Academy that gathers and educates those who are viewed as the reincarnation of the Demon King, but the academy could not see through his true powers and ends up branding him as a misfit.

The Misfit of Demon King Academy is based on the light novel series by Aki with illustrations from Yoshinori Shizuma. The light novel series, which has 12 volumes as of October 2021, is published under KADOKAWA’s Dengeki Bunko label and has inspired a manga adaptation. The story began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou.

The main staff of the anime includes Shin Oonuma (Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA Licht Nameless Girl, Deep Insanity: The Lost Child) as chief director, Masafumi Tamura (The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in a Different World as an Aristocrat) as director, Kazuyuki Yamayoshi (Deep Insanity: The Lost Child) as character designer, and Jin Tanaka (Laid-Back Camp Season 2) as series composer. SILVER LINK is the animation production company.
