#The Irregular at Magic High School Season 3 Unveils Character PV Trailer for Tatsuya Shiba

A new character PV trailer and illustration have been unveiled for the upcoming third season of The Irregular at Magic High School, highlighting the main character Tatsuya Shiba. The new season will premiere in April 2024 and will adapt the Double Seven Arc, Steeplechase Arc, and Ancient City Insurrection Arc. 

Some of the returning staff from The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor’s Arc working on the new season include Kana Ishida as character designer and chief animation director and Lightworks’ Muneo Nakamoto as scriptwriter. Asumi Hashimoto (The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc co-animation director) is working as sub-character designer on the series. 

Jimmy Stone (The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor’s Arc and The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc assistant director) is directing the third season, with Taku Iwasaki returning as music composer, and Eight Bit as the animation production company. 

Many voice cast members from previous seasons are reprising their roles in season three, which includes Yuuichi Nakamura as Tatsuya Shiba, Saori Hayami as Miyuki Shiba, and Yasuno Kiyono as Minami Sakurai. Additionally, Houchuu Ootsuka will take over the role of Retsu Kudou from the late Motomu Kiyokawa, who passed away in 2022. 

The anime’s first season premiered in 2014 from Madhouse. Eight Bit took over production for The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: The Girl Who Calls the Stars in 2017. The studio also produced 2020’s The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor’s Arc and 2021’s The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc. 

The Irregular at Magic High School is based on the Dengeki Bunko light novel series written by Tsutomu Satou and illustrated by Kana Ishida. The series was formally published from March 11, 2011 until September 10, 2020 for a total of 32 volumes. A sequel series was launched in October 2020. 

The light novels were first written as a web novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, running from October 12, 2008 to March 21, 2011. 

Yen Press releases The Irregular at Magic High School light novel series in English and describes the series as:
