A second season for The Duke of Death and His Maid anime has officially been confirmed by the production team and is set to premiere in 2023. They released an announcement image on their Twitter account to commemorate the news. 

News of a sequel to the first season was first announced in September 2021 through a short 15-second commercial spot. It was not known what format the follow-up would take at the time. 

The first season aired on July 4, 2021 and ended on September 19, 2021 with the 12th episode. Crunchyroll streamed the series in North America. 

The voice cast of The Duke of Death and His Maid is headlined by Natsuki Hanae as the Duke of Death, Ayumi Mano as Alice, Houchū Ootsuka as Rob, Inori Minase as Viola, Wakana Kuramochi as Cuff, Hiroshi Kamiya as Zain, and Yuuma Uchida as Walter.

The production staff consists of Yoshinobu Yamakawa (Hi Score Girl II, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) as director, Hideki Shirane (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) as scriptwriter, Mitsuru Kuwabata (Hi Score Girl II) as character designer, and Yuusuke Suzuki (Hi Score Girl II) as CG Director. 

Other staff members include Yuuya Hatano (Hi Score Girl II) as the character modeling director, Akira Suzuki (Hi Score Girl II) as art director, Miho Kimura (Hi Score Girl) as color designer, Shingo Fukuyo (A Certain Scientific Railgun T) as photography director, and Gen Okuda and Takeshi Watanabe (Otherside Picnic) as music composers. J.C.Staff is the animation production company and SMDE is handling CGI work.

The Duke of Death and His Maid is based on the manga of the same name by Koharu Inoue. It was first serialized in Sunday Webry magazine from October 3, 2017 to May 17, 2022. 14 tankoubon volumes have been published in total. Seven Seas Entertainment releases the series in English. 

Aniplus Asia describes the anime as:

Cursed by a witch as a child, a young duke kills every living thing he touches. Shunned by the people around him, he is forced to live in solitude in a mansion deep within a forest.

Alice serves as the duke’s maid, and her existence seems to be the cause of many worries for the young man, because… Alice makes a point to sexually harass the duke every day! Despite Alice’s seduction, the duke is unable to touch her regardless of his romantic feelings.

Will the pure love between them eventually bear fruit…?!
