#The Beyond Get Trailer, November 5 Theatrical Premiere

A new trailer for the last three episodes (Episodes 10, 11, and 12) of Fafner in the Azure: The Beyond has been released. The episodes are set to be screened in Japanese theatres from November 5.

The anime’s previous episodes also received theatrical screenings in groupings of three. Episodes 1 to 3 were premiered on May 17, 2019, while Episodes 4 to 6 premiered on November 8, 2019. Episodes 7 to 9 premiered on November 13, 2020.

Fafner in the Azure: The Beyond is the latest entry in the Fafner in the Azure series, which began with 2004’s Fafner in the Azure. The Beyond is meant to celebrate the series’ 15th anniversary in 2019.

The original series saw a group of boys and girls protecting the island of Tatsuyamajima from a mysterious enemy called the Festum, using humanoid weapons called Fafner. The years between the original and The Beyond saw the release of TV special Fafner in the Azure: Right of Left in 2005, the Fafner in the Azure: Heaven and Earth in 2010, and the Fafner in the Azure: Exodus series in 2015.

Fafner in the Azure: The Beyond‘s staff includes individuals involved with one or more of the previous entries in the series. These include director Takashi Nodo, series composer Tow Ubukata, character designer Hisashi Hirai, mechanical designer Naohiro Washio, color designer Mitsuko Sekimoto, 3D animation director Eiji Inomoto, and music composer Tsuneyoshi Saitō.

Other staff include Masanobu Nomura (86 Eighty Six) and Shumi Horiko (86 Eighty Six) as art directors and Ryūta Koshida as photography director. Production I.G is in charge of the animation production.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Kōhei Kiyasu as Sōshi Minashiro, Sumire Morohoshi as Miwa Hino, Makoto Ishii as Kazuki Makabe, Marika Matsumoto as Maya Tōmi, Miyu Irino as Kōyō Kazugai, Ryōhei Kimura as Misao Kurusu, Minoru Shiraishi as Kenji Kondō, Satomi Arai as Sakura Kaname, Ryoko Shiraishi as Rina Nishio, Kensho Ono as Sui Kaburagi, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Reo Mikado, Yui Ishikawa as Mimika Mikagami, and Misato Fukuen as Seri Tatekami.
