“The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Premieres in 2023, Teases Third Key Visual”

The anime television adaptation of Saeki-san’s light novel series The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten is set to premiere sometime in 2023. The production team revealed a third key visual to tease the anime’s premiere.

News of an anime for the light novels was first announced this past January. A second key visual was released in March.

The main voice cast consists of Taito Ban as Amane Fujimiya, Manaka Iwami as Mahiru Shiina, Taku Yashiro as Itsuki Akasawa, and Haruka Shiraishi as Chitose Shirakawa.

The anime’s production staff includes Kenichi Imaizumi (Kingdom Season 3, After School Dice Club) as director, Keiichirou Oochi (Girlfriend, Girlfriend) as series scriptwriter, Takayuki Noguchi (Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway) as character designer, and Moe Hyuga (If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die) as music composer. Project No.9 is handling the animation production.

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten light novels were first published as a web novel by Saeki-san on Shoutsetsuka ni Narou in 2018. SB Creative formally published the novels on June 15, 2019 under their GA Bunko imprint. Five volumes have been published in total so far and the series has also inspired a manga adaptation.

The first volume featured cover art from Hanekoto with Hazano Watake handling the rest of the illustrations. Subsequent volumes of the series credits Hanekoto being the sole illustrator.

Yen Press publishes the light novels in English. They describe the story as:

A HEAVENLY ENCOUNTER!

Mahiru is a beautiful girl whose classmates all call her an “angel.” Not only is she a star athlete with perfect grades—she’s also drop-dead gorgeous. Amane, an average guy and self-admitted slob, has never thought much of the divine beauty, despite attending the same school. Everything changes, however, when he happens to see Mahiru sitting alone in a park during a rainstorm. Thus begins the strange relationship between this incredibly unlikely pair!
