#The Ancient Magus’ Bride Anime OAD Gets New Trailer, New Cast Info

The first volume of the upcoming three-part OAD The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Nishi no Shōnen to Seiran no Kishi has received a new trailer. New cast details for the anime were also revealed.

The newly announced cast members include Hiromi Igarashi as Gabriel and Aoi Ichikawa as Mysterious Boy. Both characters are previewed in the new trailer, which has a heavier focus on the OAD’s story than the previous announcement trailer.

Announced in March, The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Nishi no Shōnen to Seiran no Kishi is set after the events of the 2017-2018 TV series, with Cartaphilius slumbering and Chise having received an invitation to a magic academy. As Elias and the other inhabitants of the cottage help Chise with preparations, Spriggan visits with an ominous horse and news that there is something unusual about the Wild Hunt this time. Meanwhile, a boy from London finds himself crossing paths with the world of magic.

The staff includes Kazuaki Terasawa (Overlord) as director, Hirotaka Kato (Great Pretender chief animation director) returning as character designer, Kohei Tokuoka (Bungo Stray Dogs, SK8 the Infinity) as chief animation director, and Junichi Matsumoto (Plunderer) returning as music composer. Studio KAFKA is in charge of the animation production.

The cast of the TV anime, which was produced by Wit Studio, are reprising their roles in the OAD.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Nishi no Shōnen to Seiran no Kishi is inspired by the manga series by Kore Yamazaki. Other anime spawned by the manga include an OVA prequel to the TV series and a trailer for the manga’s College Arc.
