#Taylor Swift Declined Invite To Appear On Meghan Markle’s Archetypes Podcast?!

Even Meghan Markle couldn’t get one of the biggest names in Hollywood to appear on her podcast!

After launching her Archetypes podcast in August 2022, the 41-year-old had a variety of guests join her to talk about the stereotypes that are often leveled against women. She’s had everyone from Paris Hilton, Serena Williams, Andy Cohen, Mariah Carey, and more. But one person she couldn’t get to appear on the podcast? Taylor Swift!

According to The Wall Street Journal on Saturday, Meghan allegedly struggled with securing the right gusts for the show. In fact, she even wrote a “personal letter” to the 33-year-old singer, begging her to appear on an episode of Archetypes. However, Tay didn’t seem interested – at all! The outlet reported that the Bad Blood songstress ultimately “declined” the invitation – “through a representative.” Damn! Taylor didn’t even send a personal letter back?!

It’s unknown why the Cats actress decided not to do Meghan’s podcast. This news comes after it was revealed earlier this month that the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry’s $25 million deal with the streaming platform is coming to an end. It was a pretty shocking announcement, considering they received a lucrative deal and her podcast skyrocketed to number one worldwide several times. But it seems Spotify possibly had been the one to cut ties with them!

Per BBC, Spotify chief executive Daniel Ek talked in a conference call earlier this year about how they made the mistake of handing out $1 billion to get high-profile figures to exclusively join their service in 2019 – like Harry and Meghan. He said:

“You’re right in calling out the overpaying and overinvesting. We’re going to be very diligent in how we invest in future content deals. And the ones that aren’t performing, obviously, we won’t renew. And the ones that are performing, we will obviously look at those on a case-by-case basis on the relative value.”

Yeesh. Despite Meghan having a successful podcast, let’s face it she wasn’t shelling out as much content as other creators – only releasing 12 episodes since August 2022. But it seems she isn’t giving up on her podcast just yet! A rep for Meghan’s talent agency told the Wall Street Journal:

“Meghan is continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform.”
