#Biden is only opening the border even wider

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki finally said “crisis” Thursday, but President Joe Biden is still doing absolutely nothing to stop the border surge he invited, other than issue empty “Don’t come” pleas.

In fact, he’s literally getting what he asked for. As House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy notes, Biden announced at a 2019 Democratic debate: “I would in fact make sure that there is — we immediately surge to the border all those people seeking asylum, they deserve to be heard.”

And he kept his word starting his first day in office, moving to reverse every single thing his predecessor had done to (successfully!) end the surge that began in the Obama years. He also announced he was suspending deportations for 100 days and unveiled legislation to give all illegal immigrants a path to citizenship.

Heck, Team Biden is still making it even easier to get in. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas just admitted that border apprehensions are about to hit a 20-year high, but said the administration response is work to process asylum claims more quickly and streamline the reunification of children with parents already in the country. Oh, and work with Mexico “to increase its capacity to receive expelled families” — when the Bidenites have stopped expelling them.

Sheriff J.E. Guerra of Hidalgo County, Texas, told The Post, “Now, basically, the border’s open.” The Democrat said Border Patrol agents have been moved from their positions watching the borderline to process the surge of incomers instead. And, as James Jay Carafano reported in Thursday’s Post, former DHS officials estimate that Biden’s new policies will let 90 percent of illegal migrants remain here.

Customs and Border Protection officials say the administration has put an unofficial gag order on them, keeping them from informing the media of what’s happening. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said the feds rejected his requests for data too.

Biden and his advisers seem to think Americans will just get used to it — or be distracted by their stimulus checks. The nation’s leaders are either blinded by ideology, or they really think you’re that dumb.
