Crunchyroll has revealed the team behind the German dubbing of Makoto Shinkai’s «Suzume»!

Already in a few weeks, more precisely on 13. April 2023starts Makoto Shinkai’s latest anime film «Suzume» in the German cinemas. Both presentations in OmU and German dubbed versions are planned. Crunchyroll has now announced who is responsible for the German version. This is created at VSI Berlin under the direction of René Dawn-Claude, who also contributes the dialogue book to the film. This distinguishes the team from the two previous Shinkai films “Your Name” and “Weathering With You”, for which Matthias von Stegmann was responsible for the script and direction.

The two main characters Suzume and Souta are in the local version of Emilia Raschewski and Oscar Räuker spoken. All other casts can be found in the list below.

Suzume’s journey begins in a quiet town in Kyushu (located in southwestern Japan) when she encounters a young man who is looking for a certain door. Suzume then finds a single weather-beaten door standing upright amidst ruins, as if spared from any cataclysm. Seemingly drawn to her power, Suzume reaches for the knob… Doors begin to open all over Japan, bringing devastating disasters all around. Suzume must close these portals to prevent further harm.
