#Studio Gonzo Announces New ‘SAMURAI cryptos’ Project For NFTs

Gonzo has announced on July 9 that it is launching a new project titled “SAMURAI cryptos,” onto the blockchain NFT scene. Studio President Shinichiro Ishikawa shared that the “concept of NFT opens up a new era of anime” and offered three keywords to describe the project: “Cypher, Decentral, Solidarity.”

Asking creators who share his vision to create original samurai characters, Ishikawa shared that he “wants to reach out to the passion of people who resonate with the soul of ‘SAMURAI cryptos’, and together ascend the concept into the next dimension” and is “excited with the unprecedented challenge.” 

Three creators have announced their designs so far. They include Makoto Kobayashi (LASTEXILE, Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ), Michinori Chiba (Basilisk, Sk8 the Infinity), and Hiroya Iijima (Afro Samurai, Mazinger Z: INFINITY the Movie), with more contributing character designers to be announced in the future. Ishikawa has applauded the three designers, and shares that his “personal mission was to meet the best creators, embracing the best aspects of design for the overall project.”
