Sons of the Forest offers various weapons that players can craft to combat enemies. Additionally, players can explore certain areas to obtain special weapons that improve their odds of survival. One such weapon is the Compound Bow, and it’s essential to know where to locate it. Here’s a guide on obtaining the Compound Bow in Sons of the Forest.

What you need before you can find the Sons of The Forest Compound Bow

In order to obtain the Compound Bow in Sons of the Forest, there are a few essential tools and items that you need to acquire. These will tremendously help ease your gameplay and is an eventual must. Without these reaching the Maintenance bunker would be difficult, if not impossible.

Take a look at what you need other than the Compound bow. Afterwards we will show you how to get the Compound Bow itself in Sons of The Forest.

Use the shovel to dig and find out the way to Maintenance Bunker

Shovel – This is one of the most crucial tools in the game that allows you to dig and uncover hidden passageways. However, you need to gather several other items before obtaining it.
Maintenance Keycard – This is the first keycard that you can obtain, but you can only do so after acquiring the Shovel. The location for this keycard is near the mountains/crash site, specifically at the green marker slightly southwest of the area (refer to the left-side image below).

Visit Maintenance B Facility – After acquiring the Maintenance Keycard, you must make your way to another green marker located on the other side of the island or directly east of the previous location (as shown in the right-side image below).

(Not necessary but helps) Rope Gun– Helps tremendously throughout. To get the Rope Gun which is also alternatively called the Zipline Gun, you can follow our guide by clicking the red link above. Basically you must visit a cave which’s entry is barricaded by a wooden pile.
- Destroy it with a hatchet/axe and you’re free to creep into the narrow cave. Remember you will need to be well prepared to deal with any mutants. You must also be equipped with enough gear. The cave is dark and narrow. No light and you’re gone.

How to acquire the Compound Bow in Sons of The Forest

To acquire the Compound Bow in Sons of the Forest, head to the bottom green blip situated in the western half of the map. Refer to the GPS arrow and yellow circle in the map image above for precise directions. The image is the special courtesy of Pro Games Guide (thank you guys!).

Once you arrive at the location, utilize a Shovel to dig the soft ground in front of the car.

Keep digging until you uncover a trapdoor leading to a Maintenance bunker, where the Compound Bow can be found. As you reach the designated location, you will encounter a small cannibal camp. Eliminate them and begin digging to expose a hatch.
Descend the ladder and check the adjacent bathroom on your right-hand side. You will find the Sons of the Forest Compound Bow leaning against a bathtub next to a lifeless body. Additionally, remember to retrieve the Pistol Silencer that’s also available in the same location.

Likewise, a Katana is available in a similar bunker located in the eastern half of the map.
