Singapore is set to have a fan screening of The First Slam Dunk on January 7, 2023. The screening will take place at the Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands with tickets costing S$89 (~US$66) each.

The free fan screening goodies include a T-shirt, an acrylic keychain, an A2 poster, and a visual card.  There will also be a collectible box that contains an acrylic stand, a hologram can badge set with five designs, and a character card set (also with five designs).

Additionally, The First Slam Dunk fan screening will feature an appearance from Shugo Nakamura, who voices Ryota Miyagi.

The First Slam Dunk premiered in Japan on December 3 and recently hit the five billion yen (~US$37.6 million) mark. The movie is directed by Slam Dunk creator Takehiko Inoue with Yasuyuki Ebara (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress) as character designer and animation director, Yukiko Ban (Yowamushi Pedal: Glory Line) as sub-character designer, Daiki Nakazawa (Pop in Q) as CG director, Shunsuke Nakamura (Babylon co-photography director) as photography director, Kazuo Ogura (Attack on Titan The Final Season) as art director, and Shiori Furusho (Hero Mask) as color designer. Toei Animation and the CG company Dandelion Animation Studio are the animation production companies.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Subaru Kimura as Hanamichi Sakuragi, Kenta Miyake as Takenori Akagi, Jun Kasama as Hisashi Mitsui, Shin’ichirou Kamio as Kaede Rukawa, Shugo Nakamura as Ryota Miyagi, and Maaya Sakamoto as Haruko Akagi.

The Slam Dunk manga was serialized from 1990 to 1996 in Weekly Shonen Jump and was collected into 31 tankoubon volumes. Takehiko drew an epilogue called Slam Dunk 10 Days Later on school blackboards in 2005, with the epilogue being reprinted in 2009. The anime series, directed by the late Nobutaka Nishizawa, ran from 1993 to 1996 with 101 episodes and had a different ending. There were also four anime films that were released from 1994 to 1995.
