#Shueisha’s Manga PLUS App Launches Limited Time Manga Creator Support Feature

Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service is celebrating over 28,000,000 app downloads in May 2024 with a new limited time feature to support the publisher’s manga artists. The new feature allows users to support their favorite creators by watching ads in the app, and will be available in nine languages worldwide. 

The feature will be active starting on June 3, 2024 at 12:00 PM JST. Users will have the option to watch an advertisement after reading a chapter on the MANGA Plus app. Afterwards, a portion of the ad revenue generated will be directly distributed to the respective manga creators. 

The MANGA Plus app service was first launched by Shueisha on January 28, 2019 and is operated directly by the publisher’s editorial department in Japan to support its creators. It has featured many titles from Weekly Shonen Jump, as well as select titles from Jump Square, Weekly Young Jump, Tonari no Young Jump, and V Jump. 

Shueisha launched the MANGA Plus MAX subscription service with a standard and deluxe plan in October 2023. 

MANGA Plus is available to access worldwide, except in Japan, China, and Korea. It is available to download on iOS and Android devices.
